Healthy Chicken Lettuce Wraps


As I promised in a previous post,  I’m back with another recipe where I used Homemade Flour Tortillas. This time, I thought about using fresh ingredients from the local market, seasoned with spices from the Middle East, and cooked in a healthy way, so to get an easy and tasty meal. So, here it is: Healthy Chicken Lettuce Wraps.

The possibilities are endless, this recipe is very simple and the ingredients can be replaced easily, it’s all about your taste and your imagination. I chose to use tomatoes and lettuce from the market, but they can be replaced with pickles and Homemade mayonnaise, sliced ​​olives, mushrooms or even fries. You can use any type of tortilla wraps if you don’t have the time to make your own.

I used instead of mayonnaise a garlic yogurt sauce, for which we need: 5 garlic cloves, salt, 2 tablespoons sunflower oil and 1 cup (200 ml) fat yogurt.

With these ingredients I got six servings of Healthy Chicken Lettuce Wraps.

Healthy Chicken Lettuce Wraps

Crush the garlic and mix with olive oil, add salt and spices to form a marinade.

Cut the chicken breast into thin slices and mix well with our marinade, so each piece is well cover and leave in the fridge for 1-2 hours.

Heat a non stick pan and cook the chicken breast slices, until browned.

Garlic yogurt sauce is prepared very simply and is so delicious. Smash the garlic, rub well with salt and gradually add the oil until it becomes like a mayonnaise, then add the yogurt and mix well.

For filling our Healthy chicken lettuce wraps, place a tortilla in a hot pan for about 30 seconds, than remove and rub with garlic sauce, place a lettuce leaf, place chicken breast slices, season with slices of red onion and roll, then wrap in aluminium foil. Serve with a cold beer! Enjoy!
