Frozen fruit smoothie

Smoothie is a drink made from whole fresh fruits or vegetables. Frozen fruits are just as good as fresh especially in winter when it can be difficult to find fresh fruit.

Today I got some frozen berries from last summer that I happened to find in my fridge, so I decided to prepare a Frozen Fruit Smoothie.

These thick, creamy juices are particularly healthy and easy to digest, helping bowel movements because they are rich in fiber, so are the best choice for breakfast.

They are versatile: you can try numerous combinations of fruits and vegetables or you can use goat milk, soy milk, almond milk or yogurt. They can be sweeten with ripe bananas, dates, agave syrup or honey and you may add oat flakes, chia seeds, flax seeds to give it fullness and form a full breakfast.

Therapeutic effects of berries are numerous, but they depend on the state in which they are consumed. Compotes, jams or toppings with berries are not recommended, since much of the vitamins and enzymes are destroyed by cooking at temperatures above 105 degrees F  (40 degrees C), warn experts.

It is good berries are eaten fresh or frozen (in winter), simple, without added sugar or syrup. We must educate ourselves to feel the taste of natural fruit flavor.

If you are on a diet, use milk or low fat yogurt. If a recipe have added sugar, first try to mix without sugar, and taste it and then add sugar if you feel the need.

Take time to wash the blender jar after you have prepared smoothie, otherwise it will be harder to clean after the fruits dried on the surface.

All you need is a blender and few minutes, I guarantee you will not take more than 5 minutes.

I propose a Frozen Fruit Smoothie recipe that we usually have for breakfast, but I promise you will come back with other recipes as healthy and delicious.

Break the bananas into small pieces and place in a blender, add the yogurt, milk and honey and mix well, then add the berries and oatmeal and mix until a homogeneous foam. Serve  fresh.
