Baked Sweet Potato Chips


When you feel like watching Tv, drinking a cup of tea on your couch, you always want a bite of something good. At least that’s me. I find it pretty hard to tell exactly what is “something good”… but I think that something crunchy, salty could be a great option for a late snack watching your favourite show.

Since I try to come up with a healthier option for this late snack, so that I won’t feel sorry, later I decided that vegetables are great for baking and for turning them into crispy goods.

Potato chips are very tasty but as we know them are drowned in oil when cooked. I started thinking about baking them and replacing the potatoes with sweet potatoes. This Baked Sweet Potato Chips is a quite fast and simple recipe, and in just few minutes you can have homemade sweet potato chips on your couch, and the most important aspect is that you will have a pretty healthy treat, with just two tablespoons of olive oil.

Baked Sweet Potato Chips

  • Cook Time : 15-20 minutes



Preheat your oven to 480 degrees F (250 degrees C).

Wash sweet potatoes. Using a knife, mandolin, or food processor with the thin slicing disc attached, slice potatoes into 1/8-1/4 in (3-6 mm) slices.

Baked sweet potato chips

In a large bowl mix sweet potato slices with olive oil, salt and herbs until even covered.

Line two 10x15-inch (25-38 cm) baking trays (or your oven trays)with baking paper, and spread

evenly the sweet potatoes slices ensuring potatoes are not stacked.


Bake for about 15-20 minutes or until edges are browned. Remove from tray and sprinkle with

extra salt if you want. Serve hot or cold, as they are or as a side dish.
